If you made it as far as Komiza, then be sure to visit Bisevo and its renowned Blue Grotto (Modra Spilja) on the east shore before setting off for Lastovo. There are nice places to go swimming on the other side of the island in the coves of Salbunara and Bisevska luka. Bear in mind that on this island, five miles from Komiza, there are no safe havens. You will need to sail 35 miles to get to Lastovo from Komiza; if you're leaving from Vis then the trip is a bit shorter.
Lastovo is worth the distance. It is truly gorgeous and unlike Vis has not been discovered by many tourists. Even at the peak of the high season, you can find a secluded spot all for yourself. You can choose the more indented west shores, including Veli Lago, the south shores where the island's most well-known spot, the cove of Skrivena Luka (hidden harbor), is located or you can head for the north shores where you will find the safe anchorages of Mali Lago and Zaklopatica. Zaklopatica is the best departure point to reach the town of Lastovo, located high up on a hill. Having sailed to the island, do not miss out on visiting this unique place where time seems to stand still (perhaps first thing on the morning of day four).
