Split, home of the Diocletian Palace, is the main center of Central Dalmatia, and it is from here that many begin their exploration of this area. Trogir, to the west of Split, is famous for its architectural beauty. While on the coast to the south of Split, Makarska is a summer resort at the foot of the Biokovo Mountains. Mostly, however, this area is characterized by its islands. Brac, Hvar, Vis and Solta are the largest islands in this area. On the small island of Bisevo, near Vis, there is the Blue Cave, a unique natural phenomenon, that you can enter with a small boat. Jabuka, far from the coast, is famous for its black cliffs that rise nearly a hundred meter out of the sea.
